I've been wanting to visit the islands off the coast of Ansan for awhile, and with the free bike rentals that the city offers, and the fact that the kids will go with me on a bike trip, though they won't for a long walk at Chiri mountain, we headed out of town around 6am to catch the 9:30am boat from the ferry at the end of the long causeway that connects the mainland to Daebu island (which is no longer an island). The ride from home took us through Ansan and then across the enormous Panweol and Shihwa industrial complexes, where we got to take in the smells of 10,000 factories along the way.
