This Tree Didn’t Make It at Nojeok Hill

This used to be the featured tree at Nojeok Hill but last summer I noticed they'd started giving it special fertilizer in the form of bottles of blue liquid attached to the branches, I guess to try to nurse it back to health. In the fall they cut off most of the branches, but this spring, even the uncut branches didn't put out leaves.

The sign at the bottom says it's a protected tree that's about 140 years old. It even had its own registration number! Now I guess they'll be cutting it down soon and putting in another flower bed or something.
