I love this new system they’ve set up in the city. There are 47 of these bicycle stations located around Ansan and for W20,000/year, any resident can sign up at www.pedalro.kr [EXPIRED LINK REMOVED: https://www.pedalro.kr/index.do] to use the bicycles as much as they want. The only condition is that the bicycles must be picked up and returned to and from any of these stations within two hours.
Getting signed up online was a lot of trouble but having gotten that figured out, the rentals work very smoothly by just logging in to the terminal and picking a bike to ride. We can even see how many bikes are available at any given time at any given station by checking out the website.
I hope they manage to keep the equipment maintained over the long-term.
