Along Section 8 of the Chirisan Doollae-Gil (7 of 8) – Memorial to Those Who Fought the Communists at Chirisan

The Chiri mountain area was a center of Communist infiltration activity in the late 1940s and early 1950s; this monument honors the efforts of those who lost their lives in the fight to clear the area of Communists.

The Sancheong-Hamyang Incident (the memorial for which is located elsewhere on the Chirisan Doollae-Gil) occurred during the Communist eradication campaign.
