Korea is a leading global shipbuilder and most of Korea's big shipyards are located next to harbors of Geoje Island; I guess they never get really severe weather here. There's a lot of natural beauty in Geoje, but also a ton of heavy industry, too!
It turns out that central Geoje city was the site of massive POW camps during the Korean War. The museum of sorts they've build up the mountain a ways is impressive and I always enjoy visiting notable sites from the Korean War.
We've seen a lot of interesting sights over the years at Nojeok Hill, but this is the first time the broadcasters have been out. I guess these folks from OBS were there catching the morning sun as it rose over Cheil Country Club.
It was so foggy the day we headed out to Waydo Island that we really didn't see the water the entire trip, except for the water right off the edge of the boat on the way there and the way back. Still, the botanical garden they built there was beautiful...

We'd booked our reservation for this pension along one of the southern coves of Geoje Island. It was a nice place and the owners were definitely reaping the benefits of having figured out Google Adwords before most others in Korea, because a lot of the other places in the area...
