We finally headed back home after reaching Geumgye. It was a bit disconcerting that it only took the bus about 20 minutes to get back to Unbong, which had been our starting point a couple days before and about 12 hours of distance on the walking trail.
Namsan Park is a major landmark of Seoul, but having visiting a month or two after arriving in Korea back in 1994, I never came back… until we visited with the family a couple weeks ago. The old castle wall of Seoul crossed over this mountain, and just about anything...
We didn’t make it to the end of Course #3 [EXPIRED LINK REMOVED: https://www.trail.or.kr/map/spot/23/] on the second day, so we had about one more hour of walking to get from Changweon-Ri to Geumgye-Ri on the morning of Day 3.
I'm not a big fan of this boiled ground fish snack, but the rest of the family enjoys it. We were headed into Seoul to visit Namsan Tower on Sunday.
On Day 2, we had 김치두부 and 막걸리 at this place, too!
There's a particularly beautiful spot across from the Business Management Building at the Ansan campus of Hanyang University for autumn leaves. I took these photos a week or two ago, so it's not this pretty now.
We came across lots of these, just like the one I found a couple years ago at Nojeok Hill.
No alcohol here; just the honor system, with a couple containers of 식혜 and a box for taking payment.
