Certified Korean Translation of Personal Documents

Certified translation of Korean personal documents for individuals

As a professional Korean translator of technical Korean documents into English, I handle a lot of work for companies, legal firms, and investors. However, I also receive requests from individuals who require certified and notarized Korean translations for personal needs. Having translated Korean personal documents for over twenty years, I provide high-quality, affordably priced translations, and I always maintain a professional and confidential approach in my work. Contact me for notarized, certified Korean translation of personal documents for immigration purposes, real estate transactions, and others. Reach out to me also when applying for an overseas driver’s license or enrolling in an educational institution–or even just to send a personal letter to someone special.

korean translation of personal documents for individuals

My Korean translations for individuals meet requirements of most public agencies around the world for notarized, certified translation by a professional translator.

Official Korean translations for immigration

Many immigration-related matters for Koreans (and non-Koreans who have lived in Korea) require translation of Korean personal documents into English. These translations into English enable non-Korean government officials to make decisions on visas, permanent residence, and citizenship. Usually, these documents must be translated by a qualified, independent, professional translator. They sometimes have to be certified and notarized, and even delivered in hard-copy form by first-class or express mail. My work meets all of these requirements for certified Korean translation by a professional translator.

Korean birth certificates and other family documents

I occasionally translate true Korean birth certificates issued by a Korean hospital. However, so-called “Korean birth certificates” are usually documents known officially under other names: registered copies of family register and family relationship certificates. Other variants include: extracts of family register, records of family register removals (including old, hand-written ones and those typed up before the records were computerized in 2004), basic relationship certificates, marriage relationship certificates.

These documents include basic personal information (names, family origin, permanent address, dates and places of birth, marriage, divorce, and death, etc.). I have translated hundreds of these “Korean birth certificates” over the years. I do excellent work, and I have never had a translation kicked back for errors or other non-conforming factors. My certified translation of your “Korean birth certificate” or other family document will meet your requirements. I guarantee it.

Korean police reports, Korean employment records, Korean tax statements, etc.

Non-Koreans who have lived in Korea for an extended period of time often need Korean document translation services, too. When applying for a visa or immigration in a third country, they may need to translate a Korean police report to show upright living while in Korea. Employment history and payment of taxes in Korea are also considerations in some immigration-related matters. Contact me if you need a professional translator for certified translation of your Korean police report, employment records, tax statements, etc.

Korean driver’s licenses

In some jurisdictions, persons from abroad wishing to get a local driver’s license without taking a new driver’s license exam need to provide a foreign driver’s license and a certified translation of it. I have provided certified translations of many Korean driver’s licenses at affordable prices. If you need translation of a Korean driver’s license, I will take care of it quickly and easily for you.

Korean educational records, certificates, diplomas (including Korean high-school and university diplomas)

Primary and secondary schools, colleges, universities, English language institutes, and other overseas centers of higher learning often require proof of previous educational attainment in Korea before enrollment. Korean high-school and college diplomas, vocational certificates, and even grade school records, serve as primary documentation in these cases. For many years, I have been translating education-related documents like these for overseas Koreans. I deliver excellent work, and I certify my translations of all types of Korean educational records, certificates and diplomas.

Financial documents for loans and other purposes

Koreans applying for loans to purchase real estate overseas must often demonstrate financial assets and income in Korea. For this reason, I often translate bank statements, registrations of property in Korea, and employment records from Korean companies. I also work on a lot of Korean tax reports (including employment withholding tax reports). My clients on these jobs are often title companies in the destination country processing loan paperwork. I understand the Korean financial, property, tax, and employment systems. If you hire me for certified translation of Korean financial documents, the translations I provide you will be correct. Of course, I also provide financial Korean translation in other settings, too.

“The cards look fantastic. Thank you so much.”

Jonathan R. (8th Grade Teacher – Oxford, NY)

“The cards arrived yesterday and they look great!… I know the cards will be a big help to me…”

Personal letters

I receive occasional requests for translation of personal letters into and out of Korean. If you are struggling in your communications with Korean loved ones, let me help you break the language barrier. With my translation support, you can say exactly what you want to say. This is because I make sure your message communicates accurately, both linguistically and in terms of tone and style. It doesn’t matter whether you have a short note, or a long letter. I will treat your request with sensitivity, and, of course, confidentiality.

“Steven, thank you! This is exactly what I was looking for — and the fact that you included the Korean above the translation is great. I will certainly send you any additional materials I have as we receive them, and will also be sending you letters to translate into Korean from time to time.”

Jim. M. (Parent of Adopted Korean Child – Fairfield, New Jersey)

“I emailed Korean Consulting to help me connect with a Korean church aiding a brain cancer patient trying to return home, but I wasn’t sure if they’d take on the task. When Steven contacted me personally, agreed in short order to help, and delivered a detailed report back to me in a matter of days, I was amazed. He handled a sensitive request with care and concern — a rarity in today’s business-centric world.”

Melinda Vickerman-Lalaoui (Jersey City, New Jersey)
